Hello my name is Sophie Day! I am a Registered Massage Therapist and a Reiki Master. I graduated with honours from Medix College of Healthcare in Brampton, Ontario in 2020. My passion for body movement and self healing began in 2015 when I started practicing yoga. Yoga became a life line for me as I learned what it meant to really do yoga, to challenge the beliefs I had within myself and to move from a place of expansion and love to work through those limiting beliefs.
Hungry for more knowledge of the human body, I started the massage therapy program in October 2020. I began learning the body through the lens of science, instead of my own internal experience through yoga. This transformed my yoga practice.
After completing my massage therapy journey, I stumbled upon Reiki, which I had only heard about here and there. Being offered as an extra modality by other RMTs, I figured ‘why not’ and signed up for a course.
Little did i know the profound impact it would have not only on my massage practice, but on my entire life. It was the missing piece that I didn’t even know I was needing. It expanded my world and in turn… my being.
My goal is to provide a personalized treatment, specific to you and your being. By keeping your goals in mind, I will create a safe and relaxing treatment so your body can settle in. Your body knows what healing needs to take place, my job is to gently push your being in the right direction.
Some of the techniques I may use during your treatment are Swedish Massage techniques, Reiki, fascial therapy, trigger point therapy, cupping, stretching and joint mobilizations.
